The Factory Mutual Approvals Division determines the safety and reliability of equipment, materials or services utilized in hazardous locations in the United States and elsewhere.

According to the FM Global Group’s website, FM Approval for a plastic pallet means it has met the classification of pallets and other material handling products as equivalent to wood.  

Once a plastic pallet manufacturer has received an FM Approval under Class Number 4996, it means that they have met the requirements that qualify the pallet as an FM Approved pallet.
  

Two New Fire Retardant Plastic Pallets

The Nelson Company has added two new and exciting fire retardant plastic pallets to a growing list of offerings:

FT4840FP-FM-NSF

The FT4840FP-FM-NSF is a 48x40, heavy-duty, non-bromine Plastic pallet. It is made with a robust, Thermoset Polyester Composite material that can sustain service in harsh environments including extreme low and high temperatures. This pallet is a great match for freezer use.

In addition to being fire retardant, the FT4840FP is also NSF Certified and it is FDA compliant with respect to indirect food contact.

The real strength of this pallet is its amazing weight capacities. It is fully edge rackable while holding an amazing 3,250 pounds. Dynamic (transportable) capacity is 5,000 pounds while static (stationary) capacity is a lofty 30,000 pounds!

PS4840FP-ProFM 

The PS4840FP-ProFM is a 48x40, sturdy, non-bromine plastic pallet. Used for years in the pharmaceutical industry as well as other high-end production facilities, the PS4840FP has design features that provide excellent impact protection. This pallet can last for many trips or for many years in a captive environment.

The PS4840FP has a unique, one-piece design made from high-density Polyethylene Structural Foam.

Dynamic capacity is 5,000 pounds and static capacity is an amazing 30,000 pounds.

This plastic pallet comes in a variety of colors and 600 can fit on a 53’ trailer!
