1. Lower Pallet Pricing
   Standardized pallet designs can allow for larger production runs by the pallet manufacturer, leading to lower pallet pricing. This can also allow for less frequent ordering by the pallet user, which also lowers costs.
   
   
2. Lower Packaging System Costs
   Standardized pallet designs may make it possible to standardize other components of the packaging system. If multiple SKU’s can be packaged in the same packaging or overall footprint, then this can lead to additional economies of scale and further cost reduction.
   
   
3. Lower Freight Costs
   Pallet standardization can allow for the optimization of truck, rail and sea container loading. Many times, companies spend much more money on freight than they do on packaging. It is critical to understand freight impacts when changing or standardizing packaging design.
