The Benefits of Wood Crates

We love wood crates. There are many benefits for using wood crates.  Here are my top reasons to choose wood crates for your next shipment.

Wood crates …

… offer enhanced protection.
Wood crates can reduce product damage. The crate will act as a barrier from the environment, protecting what’s inside from moisture, dirt and other debris floating around the exterior environment.

… are great for stacking.
Crates allow you to utilize more space in shipping and in your facilities. Placing one crate on top of another allows you to stack them, utilizing the height of your facility and saving precious floor space.

… can improve ergonomics.
With wood crates we can come up with smart designs that allow for easy loading and unloading which improves efficiency in the work place.

… are reusable.
Wood crates are great for long term use. Some crates are even collapsible for ease of return. They can be knocked down to save space during storage when they are not in use.

… are completely customizable.
One of the best benefits of wood crates is that they are completely customizable. We can design wood crates in an infinite number of sizes with different types of closure options. Wood crates can be designed specifically for your product so that the proper interior packaging is used for ultimate protection.

I didn't know that wood crates were actually customizable, I always assumed they were just the standard box made of wood. However, I imagine that there a lot of practical benefits to the customization as well instead of it just being purely decorative. A crate with thicker wooden walls or padding on the inside might better protect fragile contents from rolling around inside and breaking.

Simon, you are absolutely correct. Custom crates have practical benefits, especially product protection and cost savings. Creating a custom crate allows us to:
1) Optimize crate size for freight costs savings
2) Utilize less crate materials for reduces costs
3) Properly protect the product to reduce damage rates
Additionally, we can create decorative crates. Your imagination is your only limitation.

I can see why wooden boxes and crates are so popular to use. It looks like they are easy to use when storing items, and also being reusable is very nice too. I think it is cool that they can be used after they storing days, and be used by a woodworker.

That's pretty cool that some wooden crates are collapsible. It's always nice when products used fro shipping can be reused. I'd imagine that it's a nice way to save not only money but the trees as well.

I'll keep in mind that wooden crates are easy loading and unloading which improves efficiency in the workplace. I remember when my grandpa wanted to use cardboard boxed for transporting his crops into to town. Needless to say some of those boxes didn't make it and he lost money. I will be sure to talk to him about this option that seems for reliable!
