Let’s think about that wine you bought for your New Year’s Eve party last night.
What is the perception of the wine in a box vs. the wine in the bottle?
- The wine within the box is sealed in a bag which is a better oxygen barrier. This means the wine will taste better for a longer time after opening.
- A box provides a better light (UV) barrier than a bottle.
- Finally, the box contains 4x times more product than a similar size bottle (more sustainable packaging).
So when it comes to packaging do aesthetics matter?
Packaging provides the first impression we have with products. The packaging generates the perception of the product inside, both good and bad.
Mold can even change your customer’s perception. (If a customer perceives that the packaging around their product has been compromised, then they also will wonder if the product itself has been compromised.)
We want to hear what you think! What do you think of packaging aesthetics? Do they matter?
